The Oscar Nominations for the 81st Academy Awards were announced this morning and I was up early to watch. With all the excitement after Kate Winslet's double Golden Globe win along with the fact that over winter break I saw many Oscar-worthy films, I watched with anticipation. Based on the previous critics awards and Golden Globes, I had my own ideas about who was to be nominated and I was definitely shocked by a couple of the nominations.

Sorry it's been awhile since posting a new entry, but I was waiting til I had more than a handful of icons/graphics to post. These are all "Bones" related, as my friend got me into watching that show at the end of the summer and now I'm obsessed. Images behind the cut.

So even though I've been home from Japan and out of school for six weeks, it wasn't til this weekend where it really felt like summer vacation. And the school's still aren't out for summer so the town hasn't hit summer mode yet completely.

So the past two weeks I've entered the weekly challenges at disney_contest. Last week I got a Mod's Choice and this week I also got one! The challenge was for "The Little Mermaid" and my icon for Ariel's Friends was chosen by one of the mods. It also got enough votes that it was in the tie breaker for third place. It didn't make it, but I was really excited it even got that far. The banner is under the cut along with all the icons I've made for the challenges, plus the "Face to Face" one I made awhile ago from Beauty and the Beast.

So I entered my first contest last week at disney_contest where their weekly contest was "Love" themed. I entered a few icons and didn't expect to win anything. But I ended up getting a Mod's Choice for the "Theme Challenge" for making an icon from any Disney movie that showcased romantic love. My one from Lady and the Tramp won. Here's the banner I received from it.

Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie. I have loved it since I can remember and my fam has a really old VHS copy whose box shows its constant use. Anyway, here's a bunch of icons I made from the movie. Hope you like.
